Michelle Clements-Kvanli

Michelle Clements-Kvanli has been competing in whitewater slalom races for over 15 years, and had the honor to represent the United States in the 2010 and 2011 World Championships.  She did this while persevering through a potentially career ending injury. Michelle has been a three time member of the US Kayak Marathon Team, a three time Jr. Olympian, and a member of the Austin Lady Bats kayak polo team.

A big believer in paying it forward, Michelle began coaching junior racers in 1997, and has had the chance to work with many of the best junior athletes in the US.  She honed her instruction skills by developing the kayak curriculum for Texas State University and working with instructors at the University of Texas, and UT San Antonio as well as developing instruction for the David and Debbie Power Olympic Outdoor Center that she helped found.  Last year she had the honor to be selected as a coach for the Jr. Pre-World Championships, and this year she will coach at the Jr. World Championships in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Michelle most recently placed fourth at the US Olympic Team Trials.
